Dealing with biodegradable organic waste
Waste food, along with green biodegradable waste like garden materials and animal deposits, forms a major component of the organic waste stream. Seven million tons of waste food was disposed of in 2009, much of which could be recycled and reused.
Food waste and other biodegradable green waste can easily be composted and reprocessed using a variety of different methods and recycling equipment. This organic waste has applications in a number of fields, most notably as soil improvement products such as mulch and compost, which are used to help regenerate degraded agricultural land and gardens.
Green waste processing advice
RG Recycling can advise customers in the composting of mixed food and green waste using two different types of techniques:
- Vessel composting uses a bioreactor principle design to safely and effectively compost organic materials, including waste sewage, in large metal tanks in order to create useable compost for agriculture.
- Anaerobic digestion breaks down organic material which is typically more noxious, such as biosolids and animal waste. This process typically yields a variety of useful products, include solid and liquid fertilisers, and biogas for energy generation.
Food and green waste solutions
RG Recycling is able to provide your business with In Vessel Composting (IVC) equipment and Anaerobic Digestion (AD) state-of-the-art technology in order to help you with your industrial green waste composting and recycling. We buy, sell, and lease all types of equipment, and trade in the mixed waste products and finished recycled materials.
We also offer information and equipment pertaining to refuse derived fuel. This recycling of vegetable oil and other biodegradable waste using a hydrogenation process generates bio fuel which can be used for energy consumption. Click here for more details.
